Statistical
Process Control Workshop
The goal of the SPC
Workshop is to teach how to apply the concepts of SPC (Statistical
Process Control) to data commonly found in sales, marketing, and general
business.
As a tool, SPC serves as a foundation for using data to analyze cause
and effect relationships. SPC enables better forecasting, exception
reporting, and performance analysis. As an aid to decision-making, it
can be used to identify unusual
patterns in business data that may signal the need for immediate action,
while filtering the confusing "noise" found in normal ups and downs.
Getting a handle on the natural amount of variability in your current
sales and marketing data is an almost essential precursor to performing
designed experiments, as well. SPC
came from a manufacturing background, and in the past could not be used
to analyze business data except in very limited ways. Using sales and
marketing examples drawn from our case study file, we will show how to
use an advanced, business oriented approach to SPC that overcomes these
deficiencies so that it becomes a practical tool.
