Theory of Inventive Problem Solving for Sales & Marketing

The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TIPS) for Sales & Marketing Workshop aims at meeting two important goals: 1) to review and apply the "classic" techniques for structured innovation to your firm's situation; 2) to present and learn how to apply the empirical approach to innovation known as TIPS (also known as TRIZ) to your sales and marketing challenges.

Classic brainstorming techniques are a front-end to many other Six Sigma problem solving tools, from cause-effect diagramming to generating factors to test in a designed experiment. In the cutting edge world of design engineering, a powerful new tool is spreading based on the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. TIPS goes beyond brainstorming in that it is based on the empirical trends of evolution and general principles that underlie all higher levels of innovation, as discovered in an ongoing study of some three million overseas and US patents. Our ongoing research of 23,000+ applicable pages in the business and social sciences literature is extending the classic TIPS/TRIZ research to the field of sales and marketing. Even in its formative stage we have uncovered more than 50 principles that can and have been used to stimulate breakthrough ideas in sales and marketing. This thought-provoking workshop is recommended for anyone seeking a systematic approach to creative innovation in the field of sales and marketing.

Agenda:
Day One – Review of Classic Techniques for Stimulating Creativity. Intro to TIPS.
Day Two – Using "Basic" TIPS. TIPS+ for Sales and Marketing.
